I am a semi-retired senior citizen who has been obsessively training as a classical singer since I was 54 (that was in 2004). I am a third generation New York City apartment dweller. Unable to break into even the amateur world of classical singing here, I am an (unpaid) church soloist and choir member at a Lutheran church. Theologically I consider myself a Unitarian but they have dreadful music. I prefer the Lutheran services even though I am not Christian. I have made a lot of friends there. I am currently writing a memoir, mostly about literature and religion. I also take care of my 84-year-old (ex?) partner who is bedridden and has dementia. I tutor children from Spanish speaking families. Oh, and because Social Security is not enough to live on, I do some freelance copyediting so that I don't starve. I am joining this group so that I can write for Idol.
